CBS Sports has announced that the network will present complete coverage of 23 golf tournaments this year, totaling much more than 155 hours, which includes the Masters, PGA Championship, 20 PGA TOUR events, a single Champions TOUR occasion and nine golf specials.

CBS Sports tees off the 2011 season at the Farmers Insurance coverage Open this weekend on Saturday, Jan. 29 (3:00-6:00 PM, ET) and Sunday, Jan. 30 (3:00-6:30 PM, ET), reside from the South Course at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, Calif.

CBS Sports also will broadcast three PGA TOUR Specials and two PGA of America Specials and a PGA Championship Preview Show in addition to other golf specials throughout the year. CBS Sports will present Jim Nantz Remembers Augusta: The 1975 Masters on Sunday, April 10 (1:00-2:00 PM, ET).

Jim Nantz, now in his 26th year general covering golf for CBS Sports, serves as anchor for the Networks golf coverage. Sir Nick Faldo, winner of six majors and much more than 40 tournaments worldwide, returns for his fourth year as lead analyst alongside Nantz in the 18th tower. Nantz and Faldo are complemented by CBS Sports award-winning golf announce team of Ian Baker-Finch, Gary McCord, David Feherty, Peter Kostis, Bill Macatee, Verne Lundquist and Peter Oosterhuis.

The Masters, the most renowned golf tournament and the longest-running sports event on CBS Sports will be showcased for the 56th consecutive year from Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. Coverage contains a pair of 15-minute highlight shows recounting early-round action on Thursday, April 7 and Friday, April eight (11:35-11:50 PM, ET, each nights). Reside coverage of the third round will be broadcast on Saturday, April 9 (three:30-7:00 PM, ET) and live 18-hole final-round coverage will be presented on Sunday, April ten (two:00-7:00 PM, ET).

The 93rd PGA Championship, the seasons final key which annually hosts the strongest field in championship golf, will be broadcast by CBS Sports for the 21st consecutive year. Coverage begins with highlights of early-round action on Thursday, Aug. 11 and Friday, Aug. 12 (12:37-1:07 AM, ET, both nights). The 2011 Australian Open will be staged the week before the Presidents Cup next November, the Callaway RAZR X Irons of Australia have confirmed.



The historic tournament will start on November 10, with the Australian PGA Championship to follow the Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne.


The decision means that Tiger Woods is unlikely to play in his third straight Australian Masters, which is expected to take place in the first week in December.


The world No 2 had earlier stated that he would have preferred the Masters to be played Callaway RAZR X Irons the week before the United States take on the International team in Melbourne.


But PGA of Australia chief executive Max Garske said: “There were a number of factors that needed to be carefully considered in finalising the scheduling for 2011.


“These included the timing of a number of international events, the availability of certain venues and the domestic schedule that best serves the Australian golfing public.


“With the focus of the Callaway RAZR X Irons  world set to be firmly on Melbourne come mid-November 2011, it is a given that the Presidents Cup will offer up a number of benefits to events falling on either side.
